Vy received her B.S. in Biochemistry from UCLA. Before starting her Ph.D., she worked in the laboratory of Todd Yeates where she used structural techniques to study synthetic protein nanocages and bacterial microcompartments. Vy joined the lab in June 2021 to study membrane protein structures and functions.
