Profile:
Melanie received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Chemistry from Mannheim University of Applied Sciences in Mannheim Germany. She then moved across the ocean where she pursued a PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics and Structural Biology with Dr. Janice Robertson at Washington University in St. Louis. In her thesis research she investigated the dimerization mechanism of the dual-topology ion channel Fluc in membranes. Melanie joined the Voorhees lab in 2024.
