Lucas earned his B.S. in Molecular and Cell Biology from Duke University in 2023. During his undergraduate career, Lucas leveraged CRISPR/Cas9 technology in Dr. Charles Gersbach's laboratory to study epigenomic regulators of T cell differentiation. Lucas also worked in Dr. Junjie Yao's laboratory for photoacoustic imaging in several in vivo imaging projects to resolve microvascular structures. Lucas joined the Voorhees lab in July 2025 to explore membrane channel protein folding mechanics and their involvement in disease pathogenesis. In his free time, Lucas enjoys playing tennis and hiking.
