Postdoctoral Scholar Research Associate in Biology and Biological Engineering
Profile:
Lena received her undergraduate degree from the University of Bielefeld, Germany in biochemistry where she worked with Dr. Tilman Kottke on photoreceptor proteins. Then she pursued a PhD in Biochemistry with Dr. Marina Rodnina at the Max-Planck-Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences, Germany where she analyzed the kinetics of deformylation and cotranslational folding of membrane proteins in bacteria. In 2024, Lena joined the Voorhees lab to study the biogenesis of membrane proteins in eukaryotes.
