Katie earned her B.S. in Chemistry from Pomona College in Claremont, CA. Prior to starting her PhD, Katie worked in the laboratory of Jane Liu developing a platform to engineer new riboswitches. She also worked with Jacob Berlin and Greg Copeland at City of Hope synthesizing DNA-encoded small molecule combinatorial libraries. Katie joined the Voorhees lab in December 2018, where she is studying membrane protein biogenesis.
