Ángel studied biochemistry as an undergraduate at the Universidad de Sevilla. Before starting his PhD at Caltech, he conducted research at the University of Dundee, University of Cambridge, and finally was a SURF student at Caltech in Bill Dunphy's group. Ángel joined the Voorhees lab in December 2017, and is using cell biological and biochemical strategies to study mRNA quality control.
